Leaps and Bounds, LLC, was founded in 2002. We currently have four occupational therapists on staff. Staff regularly attend continuing education and professional training opportunities to provide state of the art treatment to the children they serve. Upon request, we may provide clinical instruction to occupational therapy students as a component of their final graduate level training.
Allison Mistrett, MS, OTR/L
Allison is the founder and director of Leaps and Bounds, LLC. She received her bachelor of science in occupational therapy from the University of Buffalo and completed her master of science in occupational therapy at Virginia Commonwealth University. She has been working as a pediatric therapist since 1996 and has several years experience leading groups at therapeutic sensory-motor camps. Allison is certified in the Sensory Integration and Praxis Tests (SIPT) and Sensory Integration Theory and Treatment. She is certified to administer The Listening Program, therapeutic listening, and integrated Listening Systems. Allison is a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association.
Hilary Raizon, OTR/L
Hilary graduated from the University of Cape Town,South Africa. She completed the American Occupational Therapy exam in 1984. She has been a practicing occupational therapist since 1982. She is certified in the administration of the Sensory Integration and Praxis Tests (SIPT). She has also completed the Neurodevelopmental Treatment course (NDT). Hilary's experience since 1982 includes pediatric private practice and the school system. She lives in Maryland with her husband and four children .
Dana Gentile, MS, OTR/L
Dana received her master of science in occupational therapy from Russell Sage College. She has been a practicing occupational therapist since 2001. Dana is certified in Sensory Integration Theory and Treatment and in the administration of the Sensory Integration and Praxis Tests (SIPT). Prior to joining Leaps and Bounds she has worked in pediatric clinical settings specializing in sensory integration in both North Carolina and California. Dana is a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA). She currently resides in Bethesda with her husband and daughter.
Sharon Goodwin, MS, OTR/L
Sharon received her bachelor of arts in sociology and anthropology from Carleton College in Minnesota and her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Boston University. Sharon has 10 years experience working with children with special needs in both school and hospital settings. She completed her occupational therapy internship at Children's National Medical Center where she worked with children with sensory processing disorders in the outpatient setting. Sharon is a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association and is certified in the administration and interpretation of the Sensory Integration and Praxis Tests (SIPT). She is also certified to administer Integrated Listening Systems.
